Mom called me a few days ago and asked me to have some pictures I’d taken at Christmas sent to a local photo center, but of course I waited until the last minute (call me Forgetful Jones) and ended up having to figure out where she would be on her journey this morning, uploading them on Walmart.com and having them printed somewhere in the middle of Texas for her to pick up. Worked though!
She is down there with my middle brother for a reunion that she’s waited a long time for. I’ll tell you more about that this week. Suffice to say that this is a very special trip for her.
Here’s a picture of Mom and Dad from Christmas. If you didn’t already determine this from the difference in their noggin sizes, I’ll go ahead and tell you — Mom is a very little woman and Dad is a very big man. They’re not exactly Pingping and Svetlana, but it’s a noticeable difference.

This is a really nice picture of your parents. Did you take it?
Yup. Lighting was awful. I mean, lovely and candlelit and all that, but horrid for photos.
Could have fooled me – its looks nice!
i looooove her necklace!
I was chastising her over her “chunks” (apparently it’s some stylish thing in our area of the south)
