Then we found Hamish. He was one of the lucky Clydesdales to pull the stagecoach that the Duke and Duchess rode during their Canadian tour.
We both located our desired fair food. I chose none other than the Bacon Cinnamon Roll.
It was just as amazing as it looks. Sweet with a slight maple flavor, melt in your mouth pastry, and then WHAMMO! the savory taste of bacon. It’s like your entire breakfast in one not-so-tiny pastry. However, I think I could do a better job on this and I’m definitely going to try.
Jennifer opted for the classic funnel cake. It’ll never let you down.

We headed over to check out the bands that were performing, but by this time we had been on our feet for so long that we were ready to call it a night. After three hours in the neon lights, smoke, and smell of fair delights, we strolled back to the car. And jumped a muddy ravine to get there.
See you next year, fair!
Jennifer wrote about our trip to the fair here. Enjoy!

Ohhh, that cinnamon roll sounds yummy. Deadly, but yummy! ;p
It was DELICIOUS.
How fun! I used to work concession at the fair, for the strawberry crepe people. It was always an adventure.
This year we didn’t get to stay very long (two little people in tow) but the animals and tractors were the big hits! We went too early in the day and missed JUMP, which was sad, because it’s my faaaaavorite! Our Aussie mix, Dixie, loves to catch frisbees like that.
My Scottish Terrier/Poodle mix just looks at frisbees. LOL. And I BET working at the fair is an adventure. Not for the faint of heart, I’m sure.

Came over from the LBS Tea Party!!
I’m going to have to say, fatty fatty foods at state fairs/county fairs/ fairs in general are probably the sole reason I go! Steak on a stick, cheese on a stick, deep fried butter, deep fried absolutely anything- I could try it all! Regardless of how questionable the “chefs” cooking it may be, I often wish fair foods made an appearance in my life more often. Although, if they did Id probably realize how gross they are and not get to enjoy them! Such a conundrum! lol
Excited to come by more often!

They are TOTALLY the best reasons to go. I once made a few colossal food mistakes while on a trip to Six Flags and ever since then I have been very careful about how much I consume. Let me just say that driving 3 hours back home after both you and your amusement park buddy have been up all night hurling is NOT the most pleasant experience.
Thank you for stopping by! Love your blog!
Your pictures are amazing, Wis. You’ve got a great eye, and I love your work! I hope to see it in next year’s exhibit.
