I don’t have permission to give out this recipe yet, though I suspect it’s just a really old one and not a family secret. When I know that it’s okay to share you will be able to find it here.
There’s melted chocolate and sweetened condensed milk involved here. Yum.

Meanwhile, the egg whites are over there getting frothy.

Throw in a pinch of salt.

Watch it and make sure to keep stirring.

Once your mixture reaches a very specific point, pour it into your sad looking (but tasty) pie crust. There was a Crust Incident. There is no footage of this tragedy.

Scrape that puppy clean! Family rules go something like, “S/he who does the work may lick the spoon.” If you insist.

Top it gently and bake for another 10ish minutes until browned.

Tada! She was very tasty. I have additional thoughts on the Honey Meringue and I’ll be sharing them later. Don’t worry, all good! I just think that Miss Honey Meringue was meant for bigger things than chocolate pie. Though this was a delicious abomination. (I call all super-rich creations such as this “abominations.” It’s a term of endearment around my house.)

Thanks for sharing what you could – this is most definitely an abomination.
What a beautiful abomination. I CANNOT wait for you to share your pie recipe. I just have to try out that honey meringue. Thanks so much for sharing!
Oh, yum. That looks like the easiest meringue! If ever I need one, I will refer back to it. I make a chocolate pie that is to die for, but it involves things like heavy whipping cream and egg yolks and other such delights. My husband says it’s too chocolatey. But, I love him anyway (and more for me….)
