Over a year ago I did the Seven Links post that rounded up posts on my blog that were popular, helpful, and a number of other superlatives. I was trying to think up a way to bring 2012 to some kind of conclusion around here, so I am applying this exercise to the posts of 2012.
Most Popular Post
Very easily, The Big News, the post where I revealed that I had decided to quit my job and take some time off to write. The outpouring of encouragement and support in those comments was enough to help me get through the strange looks and whispers when others who weren’t so keen on the idea found out what I was doing.
Most Beautiful Post
I have always felt that my “heart lists” are my best, most beautiful things that I put out here. I have been making them since 2004, when I started sharing them on my Livejournal. There is so much evolution in them. They are things I am grateful for, bookmarks to remind me of the beautiful things I see, words from literature and lines from songs that touch a place in my heart in the moment that I write them down. When I go back and read this, I remember where I was. They are portals.

Most Controversial Post
I don’t think I’ve written a controversial post in years. Maybe I’ll try to do that for you in 2013.

My Recipe for a Successful Readathon seemed popular among readathon participants. There is some good advice there!
Post Whose Success Surprised You
Most Underrated Post
Hmm…my Loose Curl Hair Tutorial? Not particularly popular on the blog, but it got a little attention YouTube, I suppose. And seriously people, I burned my finger making that video!
Post You’re Most Proud Of
Being Brave — because, even if no one else noticed it, the post wasn’t just about the topic of bravery…I did something brave in it. I shared something that is so painfully real and raw. Only a handful, probably less, could even know. But it’s out there and what more can a girl do.
(Planning on have my One Word ready to post tomorrow. Still tossing a few of those options around.)
