Zip™ from Fitbit

fitbit-Zip_2

Recently, through the kind folks at Verizon, I was able to get my hands on a new Zip™ from Fitbit. It’s a nifty little product that you can wear discreetly and keep track of your steps taken, distance walked, and calories burned.

Let me start off by saying that the Zip™ is the most accurate pedometer I have ever used. There wasn’t any crazy calibration to be done like with most pedometers I have used in the past and as far as I can tell it is counting my steps accurately.

One of my favorite features is that it automatically syncs your information to your Fitbit account (which can be synced to accounts with SparkPeople, MyFitnessPal, etc.) whenever you are near your computer. Wirelessly. It’s awesome! One less step for me to worry about. Then at the end of the week, you’ll receive an email with your progress. That has been really nice because it takes the work out of logging your own information.

It’s definitely shown me how little I am actually moving around these days. This time last year it would have been a different story, but it’s been nice to have some extra motivation to get up and moving.
